Your safety should always be your number one priority during any Handy booking. If there’s an immediate safety concern, please leave the customer’s home immediately and contact local emergency services (i.e. the fire department, EMTs, or the police), as they are best suited to assist you with urgent needs.
Once you are safe, please report any unsafe or uncomfortable situations to our team so that we can learn more and help protect you and other Pros in the future. Be assured that we take the safety of the Professionals working with Handy very seriously. We never want you to be in a situation where you feel unsafe.
When you leave a customer’s home in any of these scenarios and let Handy know, Handy will waive any fees that would typically be associated with a cancelation or job non-completion. If such fees are not automatically waived, please reach out to Handy customer support and ask for the fees to be removed from your account. That said, sometimes accidents happen on the job. Handy does have an insurance policy and the Handy Happiness Guarantee in place to cover up to $2,500 in damage to your Customers’ property. We also recommend that you carry liability and health insurance to protect yourself in the event of an accident.
